Two-Tone Chalice

Restoring Worn Plating and Repairing Damage

This chalice arrived in our workshop with its gold plating almost completely worn away and a slight bend in its stem. The restoration began with the complete disassembly of the vessel, stripping it down to the sterling silver base. Our skilled artisans meticulously buffed out all pits and scratches and expertly repaired the stem. To restore its beautiful two-tone appearance, the decorative base was electroplated with 24 karat gold. The cup's interior was also gold-plated for lasting protection from sacramental wine, while the exterior was polished to a brilliant silver luster before the final reassembly.
