How to Care for 100% Beeswax Candles
Proper candle care helps 100% beeswax candles burn cleanly, evenly and for as long as possible. Before lighting, straighten the wick, trim curled ends and keep about 3/4" of wick exposed. Make sure the candle stands perfectly straight and use a properly sized candle follower when needed. For best results:
- Keep candles away from drafts and moving air
- Do not move or jostle candles while burning
- Burn candles under 2" thick for at least 1 hour
- Burn candles over 2" thick for at least 1 1/2 hours
- Use a candle snuffer instead of blowing out the flame
- Remove foreign objects or blackened wax before relighting
If a beeswax candle begins burning unevenly, carefully remove black wax or debris from the top, expose about 3/4" of wick, level the candle surface and relight for the minimum burn time based on candle thickness.
