The font is made of limestone, and measures approximately 36 inches across by 38 inches high. The original hardwood cover adds approximately 22 inches, bringing its overall height to 60 inches. The font’s basin measures 30 inches in diameter. Its estimated weight is 2500 pounds.
Three sides of the hexagonal font feature carved reliefs of Christian symbols: a ship, a fish, and the Chi-Rho. The integrated baptismal basin is covered by the original removable hardwood cover with an un-adorned metal cross.
