Manipel. A straight, narrow strip of fabric that ends in a widening with decoration in Regina orphreys, a multi-coloured brocade, trimmed with matching braid.
Originally worn by the priest, deacon and subdeacon during Mass.
Worn over the operator's left forearm, close to the wrist.
The Maniple is always made of the same fabric and is the same color as the chasuble, stole, and chalice veil (if present), appropriate for the liturgical season.
