Purchase of the Carl B. Noelke Company, La Crosse, WI
- On August 1st, 2019 Stemper’s purchased the 135-year-old family business from Ed Noelke, the fourth and final generation providing Church Supplies and Inspirational Gifts in Downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. Ed Noelke is with us full time until January 4th, 2020 to help with the transition and will officially retire after 42 years.
- Joe and Jim Stemper are filling their travel schedules to introduce themselves and meet personnel at many of the parishes in the La Crosse Diocese. Joe, John and Jim Stemper travel the entire state of Wisconsin to offer personal service and free delivery when in the area.
- The Noelke store at 529 Main Street will continue to be open in 2020. The hours will be 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. Pat Krause, Ed’s trusted employee for over 30 years, along with a crew of part-time helpers will be here to service your needs. Stemper’s will be updating Inspirational Gifts and gradually adding more Church Supply items to the store. Stop in and take a look!

- September 19th, 2019 marks the date Stemper’s officially took over the distribution of Mount La Salle Sacramental wines from Johnson Brothers Beverages. We have cut through the red tape and secured the proper wholesale permits and look forward to servicing your Sacramental Wine needs.
- Our distribution of sacramental wines in limited to the state of Wisconsin. - Deliveries and shipments are set up by Stemper’s. the metro Milwaukee area is usually handled by our full-time delivery person. Outside this area is usually handled by your salesmen. Single case orders are occasionally shipped by SpeeDee Delivery. The best way to determine if your wine order will carry a delivery charge is to contact your salesmen. Wine orders can always be picked up at Stemper’s in Milwaukee.
